If a sample of thirty calls scores 84% with a margin of error of ±9 points, the real figure is somewhere between 75% and 93%. That range matters: a team that "improved from 81% to 84%" may not have improved at all.
Margin of error shrinks with sample size, but slowly, roughly with the square root. Quadrupling the sample halves the error.
